After twelve years in the trade, Leslie opened his first gentlemen's clothing shop. His aim was to provide Windsorians with what they needed- ready-to-wear tailored suits for work and sportswear for the weekend.
Ten years later, son David joined and took a leading role in the family business. The shift to more casual clothing continued and in the 80's and 90’s John Goodwin responded again to this changing market by introducing designer brands such as Cerruti, Armani and Corneliani.
